Great Opening Scene

I just have to say that LOST had a really really really good opener...I was surprised how well they started it and panned up and showed them at the top.

I thought it was genious. I was never expecting that to be the opening sequence, very shocking, especially when that song came on, I was like what the hell?!

yeah. i felt stupid for not paying too much attention at first, thinking it was a flashback. then, it started getting weirder... not showing his face, the boom, the guns. then it all started coming together. i got goosebumps.

10/10 for openings, i say.

other than perhaps the pilot, what episode opener has been better?

I thought that the opening sequence in Raised be Another was kinda cool, with claire's freaky dream, but the pilot's opener was my favorite. This one was also very cool.

Me and my parents were like, "Who's flashback is it? Locke? Jack? Sawyer?" Then I we were "Holy crap, man!"

Another great thing about it was how well it was scored. The music was awesome, especially as the camera panned up the hatch.

Genius writing....what more can I say??? After all of the fans' whining about not showing us the inside of the hatch in the finale, the writers, JJ and company wasted no time getting us there in Season Two!!! And, like many of you mentioned, I also thought we were looking at a flashback scene, although I could not figure out WHO it was from behind....

It wasn't until he injected himself with that needle-gun, then threw on clothes and grabbed a gun that I started thinking (out loud) "OMG....HE'S IN THE HATCH!!!!" :eek:

Bravo....LOST is back with a vengeance, and if this episode is any indication, it is going to be one hell of a ride!!!

Well...since i read all of the spoilers about this episode...and already knew exactly what was going to happen (to a degree) because people dished after the thing in Waikiki...I wasn't to shocked...but i have to admit that this opening scene was probably the BEST one ever... it was soo well done... Seriosly! Absolute geniuses those guys are!

Very emotional ep...besides the hatch scene, my favorite was when Jack discovered Sarah wasn't paralyzed. So great!

Yeah it was great. It was weird and the music gave it a very erie feeling. Not know who it was and then the faint explosion above and the realization that he was in the hatch. Awesome.

I didn't click until the record skipped and the dust fell from the ceiling, then i thought... hang on a minute he must be underground... and a massive explosion has made the record skip and the dust fall... He's in the HATCH!!!!

Also....Season 2 started with a close up of an eye...just like Season 1!

I thought it was a commercial, honestly. I was like, WOAH!? I had no idea it was the opener, but I agree with everyone who says it was genius. It was. But it just made guessing the ending so much more predictable, because as SOON as I saw Desmond with Jack at the stadium, I automatically knew it was him, simply because they didn*t show his face.

Okay, got to share this..In the opeining sequence, I thought it was Jack (like a flashbak), but then my brother goes, maybe its sawyer (because he had long hair) and then it showed the guy making his breakfast or whatever and I go "that cant be Sawyer because Sawyers got a better body!! HAHA!! And then it turned out that we were both out! Well, anyways, LOVED THE WHOLE EPISDODE!

It was so fantastic! Perfect opening to such a great episode. I'm very happy.

We were all sitting around going, "It's gotta be Locke." Since only he would be that age (maybe) in the time period we thought we were looking at. 60-70's.
However, once he gave himself the shot I knew it was the hatch, and I blurted it out to the whole room.

yeah - i'm still on a day after high myself. what a fantastic episode. contrary to a lot of you, i was not disappointed in last season's finale. i thought it was perfect. did i want more answers? sure, but the longer the "WTF" eerie feeling lasts, the cooler it is for me. in fact, i loved the finale. but this episode, especially the opener out of nowhere (OOON?), was brilliant.

Well your mom is very observant. And I agree with the people who first thought he was Sawyer. Only because he's the only one who's ever really frequently that much undressed onscreen.

He sounded shocked when the computer's beeping woke him. A deep inhalation of air, jumped to the computer & typed the "numbers" then went about a normal routine. BEst opening sequence ever 10/10!

I thought it was one of those life support machines at first. Should have thought it could have been the rafters, but having it been torched already might be a reason why I didn't consider it.

Have to reiterate what everyone else said, great opener, couldn't have hoped for anything better!

Loved the Mama Cass song in the beginning! I've had it stuck in my head since then! I loved how both seasons started with an eye! That was cool!

dat epi opener kinda threw me off.at first i thought dat it was a flashback.then as the scene got longer i started 2 think, "is this lost?!am i watching something else?lost is on today, right?" cuz i didn't really knoe where it was goin.then it showed jack, locke, hurley, and kate and i was like, "oh, ok." u got me thinking there, jj.lol. :D
