I'm actually happy about what's in the hatch. It opens up so many storylines, so many more mysteries. I mean, someone living in there?! And all that stuff down there. Pretty awesome :D

I was happy. There was a lot of things down there that opens up so many things. The painting, the frown on the computer, DESMOND, the magnetism, and the big pipes. Its not too supernatural or science fiction. I thought it was shocking.

I'm indifferent. I'm glad we finally know what's in there, but... the dude's home?

I'm so happy! At the beginning I couldn't believe it!

I'm so happy right now. I love that we got one question answered, and we have so many more to think about! This show is excellent, and has not showed any sign of failing yet!

I'm just full of questions and speculation.

Oh wow. I thought it was SO awesome. I have no rrom for disappointment, because it just blew my world. I'm still roiling.

Anyone else think that Desmond used to be hot??

lol. He isn't now, not with that whole crazed, I've been quarantined in a hatch for years...but when he mat Jack.

And who else totally saw that coming the moment he sat down. I think it was the nose, because I definitely saw the nose in the very beginning, and then in profile of Desmond it was the same nose.

Okay, I'm rambling, which is cognizant to the state I'm in, which is out of my mind gleeful.

FREAKING AWESOME!!!

I don't know what to think of it completely yet, but the introduction of it was great. I was just watching the dude go through his routine and then it pans up to the hole. That was pretty funny.

Watching it again, I realize he's using canned fruit and a power to make breakfast. So I suppose he must just have a rather large stash that at some point he brought there.

That does mean it was planned, and he didn't happen across the island. In fact, the huge bunker must have been built by/for him. Possibly several people, he was sleeping on bunkbeds after all.

Is he working with the others? Ethan, perhaps? Does he control the monster? I sort of think he does.

To be honest I really didn't think there was anything in the hatch of worth. But I'm really glad we got to see what we saw. now I have more questions!

I can say I'm happy for several reasons. WE finally know what's in the hatch.
Finally the episode was here so I was definitely happy and excited about that.
I'm not going to place all my thoughts here because I don't want to repeat myself all over the board but I loved this episode. It seemed different from the other episodes. It was fast paced, alot of drama played out in this episode! Kind of keep you on the edge of your seat type!

I put disappointed but it's not a strong disappointment.

Yes, I was way off in what it would be (My personal theory was that it was an entrance to Hell), but I knew that was too far-fetched, so having something believeable like that was nice.

However, I'm curious about why the light only went on once last season. If there was a guy down there, wouldn't he need light regularly?

And Danielle didn't know about the hatch, which means that it had to have been made prior to her 16 years on the island because there's no way that someone could make that big of a bunker without her knowledge, but if the bunker's older than 16 years, then I have no clue how Desmond could possibly be down there and talked to Jack. I don't think many years passed in between the convo and the crash.

All of the computers down there was something I expected - but I didnt expect anyone down in there, especially under quarentine.

If there would not have been the connection between John and Desmond, it might have been a bit duller.

It looks to me like he could have lights on and they wouldn't show. Remember when he woke up and the spotlights/window/whatever was shining light, but the guys blowing up the hatch couldn't see it.
He has a more powerful spotlight that he used once when Locke was banging on the door, and once when they blew it open. That's the one that showed. It's a sort of bluish color while the normal light is more natural.

I put 'not sure' because I'm not sure I'm happy, but I'm definitely not disappointed, and I'm not indifferent to it. I'm just waiting to see how this all plays out. I'm very happy it wasn't anything cheesey, but I'm so confused right now... I need to wait.

Not sure what to make of it... I'm glad we have one thing answered, but I guess it was all a little too.. normal to me. I guess it's weird, the "normal"ness of the place considering where they are, but I was hopeing for something more... out there...

I think once we hear the story behind him and that "place", it'll be more.. "shocking" I guess.

Not sure...

I think the hatch was probably built in the 60's and was originally occupied by "Adam and Eve" (didn't Jack say that it takes about 40 years for clothes to decay like that?) Desmond probably hasn't been there for very long.

Whatever the case, I'm happy with what's in the hatch.. or at least I think I am. We don't really understand it enough yet for me to have a solid opinion.

I liked it. I didn't really have much of an idea at all what was in it and I think that what they did will be very interesting. I can not wait to find out more about it.

I'm happy because a.) we finally know what's in the hatch although we have no clue why he's down there; b.) I wasn't expecting it; c.) It answers some questions and raises a lot more.

i was so happy!!! when they showed desmond running beside jack, for whatever reason i was like 'isn't that the guy from the beggining?" even though we didn't see the face and when it turned out to be him i started jumping up and down cause it just opened up so many directions the show can go in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i didn't know what to expect down there, but i'm soooooooooooo happy with what they did find!!!!!!!!

I'm Unsure too. I dunno if I'm happy about it, though I know I'm not dissapointed in the least. So, unsure. But confused.

To me it was fascinating !!! :)

So many possibilities to explore now...

And what's abou that "natural like" light we saw coming from all the "windows" in the hatch ? It might have been artificial light (Maybe programed by coimputer to simulate day and night) but it sure looked (and felt) like real sun light...

I really LOVED the first episode of season 2 !!!
When it was over I wanted more ! ;)

I was happy too what was in the hatch... i was thinking something totally different... but that was good cuz it was like not over the top. thats like explainable... it wouldve been stupid if it wouldve been something way scifi...

Very good episode. I wasn't expecting what was in the hatch, and the first couple minutes exceeded all my expectations of the episode. I thought the hatch would be a little disappointing, but I was surprised, and satisfied.
