well considering where we left off, with a gun to Locke's head, I think it's safe to say that it isn't safe

I don't think that Desmond is really the Miracle-performing good guy he seemed to be. I think that maybe it is an act or... something. I think he is really evil, considering he was threatening Locke's life.

By the way, its probably been said in a different thread, but I doubt we'll see any of the Jack/Locke/Desmond scene until the 3rd episode. Next week will be all about the raft I bet.

But didn't the trailer for next week have stuff in the hatch?

But Desmond knew/knows Jack.

But didn't the trailer for next week have stuff in the hatch? It wasn't anything new. It was just shots of Jack and Desmond with their guns from tonight.

well how would u like having your home broken into???That's exactly what I thought. I told my brother that he's probably just freaking out because someone found a way into his little hidey-hole.

also, he doesnt know how these people breaking in are going to react that finding him, so I believe he is holding a gun to lockes head just to get jack to drop his gun, I think once Jack calms down and drops his gun that Desmond will be a good guy, or at least not a 'villain', how the hell would they get out of there alive if desmond wants them dead?

or why not just kill them, why would he be holding locke hostage if he doesnt want them there, he can just kill them and probably seal off the hatch before anyone else makes it down there

I think Des had the gun to Locke because he wanted Jack to drop his so he wouldnt get shot. Once these guys were unarmed, Des would probably chill a bit.

I meen, Des is all alone for who knows how long and then all a sudden 3 people break into where he lives, 2 armed and one pointing a gun at him.

All alone? then why the heck was he sleeping in a bunk bed???

Are we forgetting it said 'Quarantine' on the inside of the hatch? That probably explains what Danielle was talking about when she said her crew all got sick. So If Desmond was quarantined from the outside world..he probably doesn't want people poppin into his lil happy hatch. Just a thought.

I don't think Desmond is alone. I think "the others" are with him. And I think that if somebody is sick with a disease, they are sent to live in the hatch until they get better or die. So maybe Desmond injected himself with an antidote, and it would also explain why Quarentine in on the door. If the door is opened, whatever sickness is in there will be released.

How sure are we how much Walt knows? We can still assume what his "powers" are. Maybe he didn't "see" everything that's in the hatch, he could've just seen guns or something scary. There were many weird, freaky things down there.

maybe walt saw locke with a guy to his head in the hatch, and was afraid of what might happen after that, and was afraid his friend locke might be hurt if he opened it.

um, you're kidding right? Those episodes are all one week apart. That means no breaks for the first 6 or so episodes. That's awesome.

A little off topic but during the scene where Jack's in the hatch and "Make You Own Kind Of Music" is playing the caption occasianly reads [muffled] Jack!

But after watching the entire first season in a week on the DVD's 6 weeks for 6 eppisodes seems like eternity.

I dont think that desmond is evil, but on the other hand he may be. It seems like he locked himself inside the hatch minding his own business, unlike ethan who kindapped claire and charlie. Desmond didnt do anything until they came to him, opening the hatch.

On the other hand he may be monitoring the island, studiyng everybody and perhaps even controlling the "security system"? In the beginning of the scene, when he typed something into the computer (possebly the numbers) he might have been disabling the security system (like, if the correct code is typed with intervalls the security is standing by, if it isnt typed or if only the execute button is typed the security system goes nuts) That could be the case, when they went to get dynamite, he maby saw them and figured out that they wanted to open the hatch, and activated the security system that tryed to drag down locke?

That's Kate yelling "Jack".
