When I heard the name "Rutherford" I was thought "That's Shannon's last name!", but I was so caught up in this episode that I forgot her dad died! So, I guess that's how he died... I wish Jack tried to saved him instead. Although, I guess he thought that Rutherford was the one who caused the car crash.
