It is probably Desmond, the guy Jack met at the stadium. If you remember he says to Jack, "Maybe we will see each other in another life." He says that before he leaves. At least that is who I think is in the hatch.

I thought that that didn't mean anything until he said his name was Desmond and I remember reading something that what was in the hatch began and ended with the same letter. I am just so confused though. Grr... they were right. Once we find out what is in the hatch we have about a billion new questions.

Desmond was training to run around the world. Jack met him while he was running around a stadium. When Jack trips and hurts his ankle, Desmond stops to help him. Apparently, this Desmond was a doctor once.

Anyway, this guy from Jack's past is who was in the hatch. Jack recognizes him at the end of the episode. Desmond is yelling at Jack to put down his gun, Jack is yelling at Locke ("WHERE IS KATE?!"), and Locke is saying that Kate is fine.

This was an intense episode. I can't wait for next week.

We get to see the backstory about how Jack "saves" Sarah his ex-wife - you may recall the wedding scene where she explains that, we;; this time we get to actually see the er and the pre and post op story - very moving.

There's a snippet when Vincent get;s lost and Shannon goes to find him and sees Walt in the woods soaking wet with water coming out of his mouth. Instead of Walt's voice we only hear whispers then Said shows up and Walt vanishes.

After opening the hatch they go back to the caves. Hurley - who's name isn't HURLEY so I don't know who Hugo is....tells Jack about the numbers.

Locke gets cable cause he's going down, Kate follows him and Kate goes into the hatch, She falls, bright light, Jack decides to go back to the hatch, he goes down - we see tunnels and Kate's shoes, a big magnetic wall, a wall painted with 108 and and in a geodesic dome a bunch of old computers while mama cass sings "play you're own kind of music" then we see Locke with a gun to his neck, Locke tells Jack that says Kate is OK (Jack has a gun pointed ? at Locke?), the man holding the gun is theh aussie Desmond, an athlete that Jack ran into back at some stadium where he was running stairs earlier in the episode.

Sorry if this blows but I've got to go to sleep, this ep was exhausting!
